We have a special guest for November!
Hazel Hodgkins from Hazel's Paper Designs!
I hope you'll give her a big hello! After checking out Hazel, cruise on to the DT's blogs and see what they have today:

It's chilly in Atlanta, but no where near any chance of snow and that's just fine by me. The leaves are still turning here! It takes me a while to ease in to even the thought of the white stuff. So this snow angel stamp from Serendipity will do me just fine as far as wintery weather goes!

I stamped the angel twice in Memento's Teal Zeal which is a nice match to the Echo Park papers. I cut out the second angel and shaped it a little to have some curve, then popped it up using dimensional silicone. The silicone will dry with the curve holding everything in just the right place. To add a little sparkle to my icy angel, I added dabs of Bo Bunny's Sugar Paste....think Stickles but a faster drying time and the glitter is much finer.

On the inside I I die cut the Season's Greetings and added a few of my scraps at the bottom of the liner. Finished card is an A2.

  • Stamps and Dies by Serendipity: #1380G Snow Angel, #068FD Season's Greetings Die
  • Ink: Memento Teal Zeal
  • Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Echo Park 6x6 Hello Winter
  • Other: Echo Park Enamel Embellishments, Foam Tape, Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles and Stitched Circle Dies, Spellbinder's Circles, Fishtail Flag Dies, Foam Tape, Bo Bunny Sugar Paste, Misc. Button, Ribbon

Just use IO stamps or dies, create something with the theme of Season's Greetings, have fun and link up! You don't have to have a blog to play! For more challenge info you can go here to the IO Blog.

Check out the holiday inspiration the DT has for you today:

If your in the mood to color, check out some of the images Impression Obsession has from artist Lindsay Ostrom. She has some great full size panels that color up beautifully using Copics, Pencils or Watercolors. This pretty image is called Ornaments.

There was a lot going on so I tried to keep my color choices simpler so that it didn't look too busy. You can see the Copics I used in the picture. The image actually has a nice framed line around it as well, but I ended up trimming it off.

A little sparkle from Bo Bunny's Sugar Paste and some Glossy Accents help dress the image up.

On the inside I added the sentiment from the Silver Bells Clear Set and framed it with the stitched rectangle from the All in One Rectangle 2 Die set. Finished card is an A2.

I went for a clean and simple feel today, but somehow still ended up with six layers. I only stamped a portion  of the candle image... it has a little handle and holly attached to it, but it didn't fit in to my stamp plan. I simply masked it off before stamping.

On the inside I used Versafne Crimson Red to stamp the sentiment. Isn't this wording perfect with the candle image?

I colored the image with Copics. Some of the layers are popped up using foam tape to add a little dimension. Finished card is an A2.

  • Serendipity Stamps:  Candlestick #1237E, Warmest Wishes #1231E
  • Ink: Versafine Crimson Red, Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Red, Brown
  • Other: Spellbinder's Scallop Edge Frame #S5-011, Copics, Perfect Layer Rulers, Lawn Fawn Rectangles, Polka Dot Embossing Folder

Serendipity has the sweetest snowman images! This new image, Snowman with Umbrella, is no exception! Snowmen are easy colors... just a few little highlights and you are done! A little background coloring always helps the white to stand out.

I used B00 and B0000 in the background. On the snowman I used a little BG10 for shadows.

I colored the image with Copics and then used a few little drops of Bo Bunny's Sugar Glaze to add a little sparkle to the snow.

On the inside I used my pattern paper scraps and stamped the new sentiment on the inside with Versafine's Satin Red.

If you are hopping along your next stop is to see Julie Warner!

I"ve got your back...

How cute are these little stick figures? Everyone needs a little help from their friends now and then and this sweet little image is a perfect reminder! These images are in one of the newest sets from Impression Obsession called My Friend. I stamped it simply in black ink and added a little yellow Copic airbrushing.

While the image simple and sweet... the layers add up on this card! I think I counted NINE... but it was quick work to add the layers using Perfect Layer Rulers! In between some of the layers, I added a little foam tape for dimension. I used some wrapped jute string and little sequins to embellish.

I use the Perfect Mat when I add the paper strips on the inside panel... it helps me line it up nice and  straight. I have a terrible habit of working "uphill" if I don't use a grid mat! Finished card is 4 3/4" square.
