With anything goes...let's see what surprises the DT girls have today!
It's a great mixed bag of designs from everyone!

I decided to color up this little puppy for our anything goes challenge. I know a cat would be cuter, but I have to throw a dog in here and there! He has a sad little look but even so, still a cutie!

I added a bit of soft blue in the background to help the image stand out. I tried to make the puppy look a little scruffy and sick. I colored the fur smoothly, then went back in with the browns and the blender pen and added dots for texture.

Here are the colors that I used on the rest of the image. I colored a second compress and cut it out to pop up over the original image.

I used the detailed Bandana Die in the background... adds great detail and goes with much more than just country themed projects! I used a bit of Glossy Accents to give the eyes and nose a little shine. The second compress is popped up using foam tape, adding a little dimension.

On the inside I added the Sick Puppy sentiment stamped in a combination of orange and black ink.
  • Stamps by Serendipity: #1339E Sick Puppy, #062MD Bandana Die, #1340D Sick Puppy
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Orange Dye
  • Paper: Bo Bunny 6x6 Happy Tails Printed Paper, Orange Bazzill, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Blue
  • Other: Natural Jute String, Spellbinder's Labels Grand One, Spellbinder's Grand Decorative Labels One, Copics, Cheery Lynn Quilling Die, Misc. Button, Yellow Adhesive Embellishments, Foam Tape, MFT Stitched Rectangle Dies, Perfect Layer Rulers

Check out the BIG messages the DT has for you today:

I used the long thanks sentiment from the Clear Thank You set. Love the swirly script on this! I always struggle with non-Copic cards and CAS in general but I liked how this turned out. While I like the wooden look, it could be changed up to any other color along with black and white.
To create the woodgrain, I used the wood image from the Grunge Border Clear set. I stamped the wood image in Kraft ink, then sponged on more of the Kraft ink on top of the image to give it a filled in wood look. I added a few black strips to break it up a bit.

I added another sentiment on the inside from the Thanks Sentiment set. Finished card is an A2.

With anything goes...let's see what surprises the DT girls have today!
I took a peek and the new BIRD DIE is certainly a favorite today... some WOW inspiration!

I was doing a little blog hopping today and kept seeing holiday cards.... so it got me in the mood! I think this dove is beautiful image for holiday cards.

I added some quick color with a few Copics. I always choose my papers before I start coloring, that way I can match up the marker colors with the colors in the paper. The W's are in the background to help make the white on the dove stand out, but don't show up well in the pic. On the bird the only Copics I used were YG91 and YR30.

I used the negative pieces from the Leaf Scroll die to embellish in the corner of the card.

I added the Peace die cut on the inside. Finished card is an A2.

In this month's release there is a new Hot Air Balloon Die. Lots of possibilities to cut and piece this back together in lots of fun ways. I kept it simple and just used the die plate to emboss a heavy white piece of paper. I cut it down to fit inside the middle of the fancy die I used for the card base.

Using a heavier weight paper to emboss gives you a deeper impression and helps to prevent the die from accidentally cutting through in spots.

On the inside I added the new matching sentiment Let your Dreams Soar. I loved how beautifully this die embossed! I cut the die for the card base out of heavier weight paper too, which gives it a little more oomph to stand up.
  • Serendipity Stamps: #064MD Hot Air Balloon Die, #1367C Let your dreams Soar
  • Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
  • Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White #110, Red, Black
  • Other: Adhesive Embellishments, Black Twine, Spellbinder's 5x7 Mystical Embrace Card Creator Dies, Oval Die Cut, Foam Tape
Your next stop on the hop is to the talented Julie Warner!

The colors of fall from the DT

Love this new Gary Robertson Corn image. Easy to color or just stamp it in sepia for a beautiful fall card. The Feed your Soul sentiment fit perfectly in the open space on the image. I used Copics to color it up and added a few simple layers.  I added an embossed panel in the background for a little texture. Finished card is 4 1/4" x 5 1/4".

  • Stamps by Impression Obsession: Corn H2500, Feed your Soul #B14333
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Onyx Black
  • Paper: Maize, Brown, Kraft, Black, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White
  • Other: Perfect Layer Rulers, Black Twine, Bow Easy Tool, Copics, Button, Tim Holtz Embossing Folder
