Get hopping....

I chose to use the new heart image from the Quilted Heart Set. I used a Japanese Wall Frame Die Cut in the background, cutting it out of metallic pink paper.

I stamped on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White with Memento Tuxedo Black. The picture shows the Copics I used to color the heart. After coloring, I cut it out.

I added the Love Die Cut on the inside of the card. You can also use the negative parts of the die... the little hearts that cut out.

I layered things with foam tape adding a little dimension. Of course I worked a bow in the mix. I added a little Ranger's Crackle Accents over the buttons in the image. The finished card size is 4 1/4" Square.

Chill....

Bright winter blues! I used paper from Bo Bunny's Powder Mountain Collection. The sentiment and image are from Flourishes Set Snow Day. I added some layers and a loopy bow made from metallic embroidery floss. The die is also from Flourishes and does all of the little piercing detail as it cuts.

Here are the Copics I used to color the image. I used BG70 in the background. I also added grey in to the white shoes so they would not be so stark white. Finished card is an A2.

Here our the links to see what designs the other DT Ladies are showing off today...

I chose to go with a clean and simple layout for this Breast Cancer card. I grabbed a 6x6 My Mind's Eye paper pad "Blush" which is packed full of all sorts of pinks!

I stamped the Big and Small sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I airbrushed around the edges with RV32. I used just the very tip of the markers to color in the letters, fading color from light to dark.

Here's an up close view. The base card opens tent style and is 4 1/4" square. I let the circle hang off the top just a little bit to break up all the straight lines.

  • Stamps by Serendipity Stamps: #1100D Big or Small Breast Cancer Motto
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: MME Lost and Found 6x6 Collection Blush, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White

Snowflake New Year

I wanted to do a card with this jumbo snowflake die.... and thought it would pair up nicely with the beautiful Happy New Year Script from Prickley Pear. I layered some paper on to the base of the card. and then I used 1/16" Black Rainbow Tape to create the grid pattern. Check out the Prickley Pear Blog to see what new designs are posted from the Design Team.

Beautiful People....

I loved this sentiment, paired up with simple flowers made for a pretty quick card. You can see the image below. I stamped it a second time and cut out an extra flower to add in to the mix.

I used the out of the box technique with Spellbinder's Labels 8, letting the flowers hang out of the frame. I used BG0000 to add a little background around the image. The flowers were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Ink on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White.

Here are the colors I used for the flowers.... the one in the right corner is cut out.

Here's the upclose. You can see where I added the third flower layering it over the sentiment. I used the Corner Chomper to selectively round some of the corners on the card. I always forget to stamp on pattern paper... must make a sticky note to remind me. I really like the sentiment stamped on the striped paper. Finished size is an A2.

Garden Basket

This was such a FUN image to color... lots of bright fun colors to choose for the garden veggies! It's not overwhelming in size so it really is a fairly quick color job. I struggled with the cabbage in the back of the basket.... I kept adding colors and changing it.

I stamped everything twice.... cutting out the gloves and the basket and coloring them completely. I popped them up with foam tape over the original stamped image. You can see I colored just the edges of the bottom layers so that you would not see white under the popped image. I used so many different colors, too many to keep track of take my picture with all the caps. Sorry!

Ohhhhhh.... I just love when there is a mini! Perfect for the inside of cards or the envelopes! This would make a cute little hang tag too!

Impression Obsession - ....what's new?

The Impression Obsession Challenge this week is "Sweet Thoughts"... which kind of encompasses a lot. You can always play along with us for a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate. Find all the details on the IO Blog

Check out what the ladies created this week:

Last time I used these strawberries, I paired them up with the little Strawberry Carton image. I wanted to use them again because they are so fun and easy to color.

Here are the colors I used for the berries. After coloring them I used the 0 Blender pen to push away a little color around the little seeds. You can see it more pronounced in the picture below.

Some quick and easy color for the green leaves.

I used the IO flag die set and added the what's new sentiment. I cut two borders, inked them up and added them along the border. Of course a little ribbon made it on to the card. The finished card is an A2.

Thank you to all of you IO fans that having been hopping along this week with the team! I decided to finish the week off with a sweet card.
Above is the Border Duo 2 Set that I used... you can see I used both edges on the card. Love having two dies in one!!

This is such an easy color! I think sometimes people shy away from images with a lot of shading in the drawing. But honestly they are the quickest and most forgiving images you can color! I airbrushed a little pink edge before removing it from the die and also added the piercing using the inside of the edge of the nestie as a guide. When I color with Copics my favorite paper is Neenah Classic Crest Solar White.

All of my layers were done using Perfect Layer Tools... love that 1/16" edge!

So this is several different stamps.... and the possibilities are endless! There are images with one, two or three strawberries and the carton image is empty.... so you could fill it with anything! I created this with the single strawberry and the trio. I masked the carton using Eclipse Tape.

After stamping I cut out the image with a Square Nestie and airbrushed using BG10. I also pierced the inside edge of the square before I removed it from the die.

Here are the Copics I used for the leaves and the carton.

Above are the Copics for the berries.

I used the IO Shaker Square Die as a frame. I added little white highlights using Tim Holt's White Pigment Marker.

I used a Chestnut Roan Cats Eye to ink up the edges of papers. A little Basic Grey Brad attaches the little sweet banner. Foam tape pops up the main image panel adding a little dimension.

We are half way through our week of previews and I have to say thank you to all of you for leaving such nice comments! Good luck to all of you in the daily drawings!
Showing off a little Valentine card today... I used the new Beauty Roses image. It's a personal challenge for me to color roses.... I can be a little critical and I typically seem to over color... trying to continue to shade and blend long past the point I should have stopped. Give me a cute little cat and I can color it up in no time, give me a rose... I'll sit with it for way too long and agonize over it!

Here are the Copics for the petals.
The R81, R83 and R85 are by far my most favorite pinks.... I skipped R83 in this flower.

I used G46, 43 and 28 for the leaves, adding the G28 for a little more depth.

I used the Krylon Silver pen to outline the edge of my die cuts. I love the metallic shine and it gives an illusion of another layer. The small embossed ridge from the die gives you a nice little indented line to follow along with the chisel tip.

I layered the rose image under my pink frame. I've been into making frames lately layering with Nesties... such an easy thing with all the fabulous dies out there!

Serendipity Stamps Challenge #3 - Hearts

Serendipity Challenge this week -- HEARTS. You can play along with us at our new Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog.... we always have a gift certificate up for grabs to a random participant. Here our the links to see what designs the other DT Ladies are showing off today...

I know everyone is probably going with Valentine's cards with our Heart Theme... but for some reason this came about! I never use this much yellow! It's good to step out of the box for a card or two! I had fun coloring up this little Heart Topiary using yellows and oranges... which are never my go to colors!

Here are the Copics I used to color the image. I cut the image out along the ribbon banner edge when I was finished coloring. I never cut before I color.... that way if the coloring goes south... then I have not wasted my time cutting it out. I don't hand cut too much, kinda short on patience when it comes to cutting!

I used Spellbinder's Resplendent Rectangles to create my card layer and the base. I cut two large yellow layers and two large white layers out of the largest die... gluing them all together. The back and front of the card are yellow but white on the inside. I glued the two panels along the top to create the card. I always use a wet glue when I do this. One reason is I think it is a stronger adhesive and you have the ability to move it and wiggle it, getting it aligned perfectly. I inked the edges, which also really helps hide any places that are not lined up exactly perfectly.

I alway have fun coloring up the images from artist Gary Robertson.. especially the ones he designs with the little black cat tucked in the scene somewhere. I stepped out the coloring process below. I always stamp on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White with Memento inks.

I used the Shaker Frame Die cutting it in half, I used a Chestnut Roan Cats Eye to ink the edges. You can see in the below picture the two half frames under the image.

Here is an up close view... foam tape in between layers for dimension. Finished card is an A2 size.
