Let it Snow

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I am back in the swing of things after a little break. Really.... I don't want snow. Seeing it on the news is just fine with me. Here in Atlanta two flakes shuts the entire city down and everyone flies to the grocery to buy bread and milk. Never understood the bread and milk.... but the shelves empty in no time flat!

I like how the snow turned out on this very simple card. I airbrushed the background and then used my blender pen to remove color in little white dots, which I then covered with my home made glitter/crystal lacquer concoction... with the crystal lacquer it dries but still looks like wet little glittery dots of snow. Click on the close up for a better look.

Jingle Jingle Jingle

I needed some Christmas cards to put gift cards in for my nephews.... I totally wimped out on Toys-r-Us.... I just couldn't manage to drag my tail in the store to shop in the Holiday season.... so their parent's can take them! Terrible of me, I know. But not having children, going in there is like visiting another planet for me. I can barely recognize Barbie and Ken these days! So, I wanted to make something fun and colorful for them. I saw the Jingle, Jingle, Jingle stamp in my Christmas case and it inspired the addition of the bells, and yes, they do jingle. They might jingle right off the card in the hands of a 5 year old -- but that's OK! I tied a little knot on the bells and added a little drop of Ultimate Glue to help them stay attached. On my scallop nestie I used embroidery thread and a fat craft needle to rope the thread up and over the holes (created with the screw punch). I love this look, so it will be probably be my "new favorite thing" for a few more postings. The corners are 2 sizes of photo corners, one turned opposite and the point ends trimmed. Go ahead and make fun of the lower left corner-- it is crooked, I see that now, long after the glue is dry. He's five, so I'm not gonna worry about it. I'm sure the card will be discarded quickly and present opening resumed. Thrilled to have them in town for the Holidays... Christmas is so much more fun seeing the excitement of the kids opening the gifts.

Glitter Wreath

OK, I made this mix of super fine glitter/fairy dust and Crystal Lacquer, put it a little film canister with a tight lid so it does not dry up.... now I feel compelled to put it on everything. The home made glitter glue is a tip from my stamp pal Miriam. Click on the close up to see the superfine sparkle! Also in the close up you can kind of see the shimmer in the paper- Curious Cryogen, my new favorite "go to" paper, thanks to Sandy. The totally cute Tree Paper by Frances Meyer was a present from my friend Robin. I cut my image out with a scallop nestie; then I used my Japanese Screw Punch to make the holes and used wound the little red bead string up and under to get the "rope" look around the edges. The little bead rope was a find in the Christmas section of Michael's.

Happy Holidays!

This ornament stamp is from Impression Obsession and just screams -- Jazz me up with some sparkle and bling, so I did. I colored with Copics and added accents with a Pentel gold gel pen. It's a Martha border punch on the bottom "Lace Doiley". The green paper actually has a gold shimmer to it IRL, so it looks a little more cohesive IRL than in the picture, and the red background has a little star burst pattern. I stamped on Curious Cryogen and it is the card base too, I love the shimmer of this paper on Holiday Cards. Added some serious bling (a lot for me) and a triple bow to top it off. Done. Finished card size is 5 1/2 Square.

Basic Grey Floral

The basis of this card is a 12x12 sheet of Basic Grey, with the Big Blue Flowers all over it and the red check background. I cut an entire flower and other flower petals out and popped them up, and in between I used some gold leaves that I created with a Spellbinders die. The Happy Birthday is gold embossed and one of my most used stamps. I cut it out with a Spellbinder's label die and used my Signo pen for some little white dots. The gold cord is secured with a nail head. The center of the flower are some decorative gold filigree pieces and I popped a pearl in the center of each. Finished card size is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2".

Love Machine

Heeeehhheee.... this little robot just cracks me up. It is from the The Cat's Pajamas. I colored the love machine with Copics and made the dotted frame using the border of my Nestie. I used a silver sharpie marker to make some stitch doodles around the red mat. The rest is pretty self explanatory... I used some little silver sticker dots for his love struck eyes and of course some red Spica on the heart. Double bow and done.

In HOT water

Here I am, the bad blogger.... I could tell you that blogger has been eating my posts all week, all my paper was stolen, the cat ate my cards... but the truth is.... well,I just have not had any creativity going on here! Nothing. Clean craft desk, chores done, free time and nothing. Went on a shopping spree for new craft goodies.... sure that would spark something. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Now of course, the weekend is coming to an end and back to work in the morning..... NOW I'm feeling crafty. I knew this would happen. Anyway... this card came together pretty quick -- I used one of my new Martha Stewart Punches to create the checkerboard border. Still not a Martha fan, but here punches got through card stock like butter, so have to give the thumbs up on those. And I finally got an order of the Curious Cryogen paper ---- Love it! It doesn't show in the pictures but I really love the subtle shimmer the paper gives off and it works super with Copics. I used such a dark red and black, I tried to lighten it up with some pale pinkish ribbon, and go figure, I had pearls in that exact same color to finish it off.

Two Turtle Doves

What is a Turtle Dove anyway -- is that a real bird?? OK, it is a real bird - I just looked it up and this is what Wikipedia says..... The Turtle Dove is a member of the bird family Columbidae, which includes the doves and pigeons. So there's my trivia for the day.
The actual card base is green - I used white and red squares to color block the sides. On the gold center panel, I chose to deboss using my cuttlebug folder, which I think is just as nice of a look. I used my ATG gun to adhere the ribbon to the gold panel. These images are kind of difficult as they leave a lot of "card space" to fill up! We'll see if I make all 12 days....

A Partridge in a Pear Tree

Hmmm.... can you guess what the next 11 posts will be? Penny Black came out with this totally adorable set of The Twelve Days of Christmas, and I thought it would be fun to post one each day. I'll have to say the French Hen is probably my favorite... but you'll have to wait to to see it.
The card... I had not done a suspension card in some time... and I thought it might work for this little guy. I realized it was only one little stamp... and I was left with a lot of other "space", so I cut the space away! I picked up the little jewels in the jewelry section of JoAnn's. I used fishing line to suspend them. You can click on the close up for a better view. With Nesties -- doing cards like this are soooo much easier than the olden days before we had Nesties.
I had no idea what color a partridge is.... so I googled it and the images I found were white, red, brown, blue.... so I just picked a color and went with it. I used Copics to color the image.... and just realized I did not used any Spicas-- I will remedy that.

Do I smell CAKE?

I started out with the background paper Basic Grey "Offbeat" and it had blue circles on the design. So I went with blue and yellow -- when I was done with my card I realized I covered up all the blue in the background. So if the blue looks out of place that's my story! On the cake frosting I mixed up a little crystal lacquer with some Fairy Dust - which is just ultra fine glitter. I apply it with a toothpick so I can just put a little drop and move it where I need it. The "mix" of glitter and Crystal Lacquer is a tip I borrowed from my friend Miriam. Why do this? I hate when glitter glue dries and looks chunky. The smaller the glitter the better. It really has a much better finished look. I stamped in Memento's Cocoa Brown, but wanted my Doggie a bit darker do ended up going over it with a Copic.

Mouse Drops

Even if you are not a House Mouse fan - you have to admit this little image is pretty cute. The label on the bottle says "Mouse Drops". I used my new Nestie Labels Dies for the image and the sentiment. Colored with Copics and put clear glaze pen over the bottle for a little shine. Poor little mouser looks so pitiful, I thought Lockhart's "Ickie Sickie" would go well! I used my craft knife to make a little slit to run the ribbon through the label. Simple and Quick. Done.

Blog Candy Winner

Did you have a Hamster named "Hammy"?
If so you just won some Blog Candy!
Comment #22 from Jessica was the winner and she left this post in reply to your favorite pet....

Jessica said...
We traveled a lot when I was little and my brother was allergic, so pet choices were limited. I chose a cute little Chinese hamster that I called "Hammy" (original, I know, but I was 8). I loved letting Hammy run around on my bedspread, stuffing (non-kernal) popcorn into his cheeks. He always knew where the edge of the bed was too. He'd run right up and stop cold.

Jessica - please email me at with your info and I'll get your TCP set out to you ASAP! Thanks to everyone for the fun pet comments! I loved reading about all the fur babies!

Snow Cat

I'm not even gonna tell you how long I struggled with this card. Lets just say I past the point of time invested and could not let myself throw it away. I know it does not look like I spent that long, but some cards just go that way, and this one did! I masked Mr.Snowcat and airbrushed the background with a baby blue Copic Marker. To create the snow I just used my blender pen to remove some color. I did the same for the tag. I added a little crystal lacquer on the hat and birds. I edged the snow-cat and snow hills with some glitter glue for sparkle. The image and sentiment are popped up. Finished card size is A2.

Eat more Cake!

The TCP Tuesday Challenge this week was to make a card using a cake image. You can find the challenge on Toni's blog. So here's my little entry. The cake is colored with Copics and glittered and lacquered! I added doodles galore around the nestie edges. The ribbon is a black flower edged ribbon and then over it is the aqua fuzzy bump ribbon. I added the silver beads in between the bumps. I may have over done it with this card-- too much? I could not stop with the silver pearls. I have a cold so maybe my judgement is impaired!

Mr. Christmoose

Mr. Christmoose started with the glitzy Debbie Mumm holiday paper. I just love this stuff! The moose was stamped on Curious Cryogen, I airbrushed the background with a bright green Copic. I used a red Copic to make the border. I colored the moose with two different browns then used my blender pen to remove the color on his feet and lighten him up in places. I strung some beads on fishing line and tied those in with my bow. I fussed with this bow... usually easy peasy, but not this one. I glued the bow tails down in a way that the beads would not fall in front of the moose, which was easier said than done. I added Spica pens to the light bulbs and holly, then coated them with Crystal Lacquer, I also used crystal lacquer over the red scallop border. It helped tie it back in with the glittery and embossed DP background. I used a gold gel pen for the light cord and I used a clear glaze pen to outline the stamped image... to help him pop from the background. In the end I think he turned out pretty cute, for a moose! Here's a close up so you can see the detail a bit better, click on pic to enlarge. The finished card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" Square.

Nurse Sprinkle #2

It's the season for the sniffles... so Nurse Sprinkle to the rescue. I stamped Sprinkle and airbrushed the background after I masked the hat and shot. Simple little doodles around the edges. The scalloped edge on my background panel was created with those long forgotten decorative scissors we all have. This is an ultra simple card. It took me way longer to make than it should have, but I was messing around with all the elements moving them here and there, this way and that way.... way too long. The ribbon is from the dollar bin at Mikes-- boy it was the perfect match to my card base color -- every once in awhile you get something that just works! Finished card size is an A2.

Candy is Dandy!

I felt totally compelled to start making some doggie cards since so many comments were left by dog people on the blog candy post. I loved reading about every one's pets! This pooch is from one of the new Cat's Pajamas Holiday clear sets that was just released. It's a quickie and fun one to color and embellish with glitter and crystal lacquer. I masked the house and airbrushed the background, colored with Copics and went to town applying Spica, Glitter Glue and Crystal Lacquer! I put lacquer over the sentiment as well so it would look "sugar glazed". The little hanging ribbon beads don't look as good in the pic as IRL as they kind of blend in with the background paper... but they are cute swinging back and forth. I think this is the second dog card I have posted, so sorry dog lovers.... I vow to do better. woof. And to Sonia - sorry but I will not be making any ferret cards! Blog Candy is still active -- leave a comment on this post Christmas Blog Candy , if you have not already!

Naughty or Nice?

Oh.... how I have neglected my Fluffles lately. I like how this turned out and it came together super quick. I am LOVING my new Nesties. So fun to have some new shapes to create with. Here are the details on Fluffles... I paper pieced the gift bag and colored the rest of the image with Copics. I used a metallic silver Sharpie marker for the border on the image, the belt buckle and also the silver dots on the outer layer. I put Spica Red on the hat and belt then a coat of crystal lacquer for both, I tried to capture the "Spica Sparkle" in the close up photo. Click on it to see better detail. I used Fine glitter glue for the white parts of the hat. For the ribbon I used a slot punch and threaded it through the top layer, then put two more ribbon pieces coming out from under the next layer for a different look. A Cuttlebug Ornament background some paper layers, dewdrops and the bow to finish. Card size is an A2.

I hardly ever emboss anymore it seems... it is so pretty and perfect for Holiday cards. When I emboss I almost always use Versamark and an Embossing Powder of what color I need. I don't think it's better this way or or any other way, I think it's just what you start out doing and it becomes comfortable and sticks. The large poinsettia is one image, stamped multiple times to create my matching Poinsettia DP. I embossed with gold and colored the flowers with Copics. I trimmed against the edge of the flowers to create the edge. On the "Noel" I also did a second stamping to get a duplicate of the small flower to cut out that I could rotate and pop over the one in the "O". Obviously I am loving my new Nesties! The gold card stock I ran thru a Cuttlebug Folder for some dimension and that layer as well as the red are popped up with foam tape. Finishing bow and jewels. Done.

Christmas Blog Candy!

Oh.... what a good day I have had! I stalked my mailbox like a demon all day waiting for the postman who was totally three hours later than he usually is, patience: not really a strong point of mine.... but it was worth the wait. I got new Nesties and new Cat's Pajama's stamps and after opening my goodies quicker than lightning I was off to my stamp room... And since I had a good day... Alma at The Cat's Pajama's thought someone else should too..... so TCP BLOG CANDY is up for grabs! I made this card using one of the new sets "Deck the Hall", which shows off all the usual TCP characters in the Holiday Spirit. Of course I had to go for Sprinkle first! The black around the edges -- well I doodled around the edges and decided it was some bad doodling so I used the chisel end of a black marker and wiped my doodles away. I thought the black tied in better with Sprinkle in the end anyway. Trust me the doodles were bad. I used a teeny tad of glitter glue to liven up the little light bulbs and the garland is outlined with a gold pen.
  • Stamps: All Stamps by The Cat's Pajama's "Deck the Hall"
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Onyx Black
  • Paper: DP by Basic Grey 6x6 "Boxer", Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110#, Red Cardstock
  • Other: Nesties, Copics, Micro Black pen, Cuttlebug Folder, White Sticky Dots, Misc. Ribbon, Spica Pens, Fine Glitter Glue, Gold Gel Pen
OK --- NOW --- BLOG CANDY..... This TCP clear set "Deck the Hall" could be in your stampin' hand soon. I think I have a lot of readers that are animal lovers, well, maybe cat people more than dog owners.... so I thought to win this set all you need to do is leave a comment on this posting and if you have a pet tell me what kind of fur baby and it's name.... or your favorite pet from childhood/whenever and the name.
I know I always refer to my Humane Society Black and White Tuxedo Cat as "my bad cat" but he does have a name... "Peppercorn" named by my husband. We have shortened it and call him all sorts of things ....Pepper, Peeps, Dr. Pepper and little Rat (when he is bad).
So leave a comment and I'll have the husband draw a winner on November 23rd, next Sunday evening....

A Birthday Kitty

It's bold, I know. The little kitty stamp is from Outlines and has little circles where the "bling" should go. On the ears - I had some black metal teardrop accents and I just flipped them and used the silver underside. I used crystal teardrops for the eyes and half back silver dots all over the kitty. I stamped the kitty on white and then masked it, airbrushing green and blue to match my background paper. Some doodles around the edges with a brown micro pen. A few little Prima flowers.... Done!

Peace, Love & Joy

This card started with the adorable penguin DP... it came in a Debbie Mumm 4x6 stack and it's all glitzy and embossed. I found I really like using DP from a 6x6 pad or 4x6 stack for two reasons... The prints are usually smaller and better suited to go on a card (vs. a Scrapbook page) and the other reason is the tiny scraps that are left I can toss and not feel bad about saving scraps of paper.

The little penguin is one stamp - I stamped him three times. Then twice more and cut those two out to pop up. I Spica'd the hats and used some fine glitter glue for the white portions of the hats. I doodled a bit around the edges. I also took my .005 Micro pen and added some little penguin hairs/wrinkles (? whatever!) in different spots on their bellies.

Peace, Love and Joy are one one stamp together but I inked the words and stamped them separately. I doodled around the edges of the tags too, then coated the edges with some fine glitter glue - when I say "fine glitter glue" I mean it's small glitter and does not dry all chunky! The ribbon I tacked down to the paper with some Ultimate Glue to keep it puffed up and in place.

Here are some close up pictures so you can see the detail a bit better. You can click on the pics to enlarge...

School Chick #2

Here is another Teacher/Thank You that I made for my friend. I used Copics to color the image and Spica Red on the apple. The oval border is red Copic marker and the little sketch marks around the edge I made with a white gel pen. I pulled colors from the DP with the school words and just built my card around that. I cuttlebugged the middle panel and just wrapped some of the ribbon around the edges. I popped some little crystal stars in between the words - which kind of pick up and match the sparkle on the apple. Done.

Candy Canes

A little sugar for today's posting. The image was stamped in red, then I used a .005 Micro Pen to outline the candy canes in black and outlined the bow in black (over the red). The picture does not do the candy canes justice, I used a clear and red spica pen to add sparkle, then coated them with crystal lacquer and they look much better IRL. The bow I colored with Copics. I colored the border around the candy canes and used deckle edge scissors to trim the edge. This layout was born as a result of a cutting mistake... so my lazy self just went with it... and kept going. The large scallop border edge I made with just using one cutting side of a scallop nestie. Simple little card that came together quickly. Finished card size is an A2.

Hey Pardner!

Here I am! I know I have been a bad blogger this week with no postings. My apologies. Sometimes life just doesn't leave time for stamping. (Horrible, I know!) But I'm holed up in my stamp room this afternoon and plan on being in the same place on Sunday. The windows are open, with the leaves falling every second and a fall breeze coming in. My bad cat is napping in the other chair, my ipod playing my tunes.... perfect day. So with no stamping for a few days I headed to SCS to find some challenges to get it going... I incorporated two of this week's challenges on this card
  1. To use corner punches. (WT191)
  2. To use a circle and rectangle in combination somewhere on your layout. (LSC193)

The little cowboy and sentiment are by The Cat's Pajamas.... which on a side note, has new stamp sets out this weekend.... and YES, I had to get them all! They were too cute-- even the little doggies. Back to the card---I used a black copic marker to make black dots around the borders and then colored with a brown marker to fill in. The black strip I ran through a CB folder but it's a little hard to see in the picture.

Nurse Sprinkle

Yes, Sprinkle the cat wears many hats. Here is Nurse Sprinkle. This card was for my Father-In-Law, so I tried to keep the "girly" factor toned down. I stamped Sprinkle and then masked the hat and the shot, and airbrushed the background blue while it was still in the Nestie, so it left the white border edge. I doodled around the edges and added layers here and there. I ran the blue and the brown pieces through a Cuttlebug Folder to add some texture. The sentiment is glued on top of black twill ribbon. A few little brads and the never-ending white sticky dots. On the shot I added a little crystal lacquer so it looks shiny IRL.

School Chick

A friend needed a Thank You for a teacher... for those of you are wondering why I am making this card. I have not enrolled my kitty in any New Age Cat School! The little chick is stamped in Black Craft and I embossed using Detail Clear EP. Copics to color in the border and image and of course the apple is Spica Sparkly. The chick looks a little blob-ish in the pic but is better IRL. The sentiment I embossed with White Detail EP and then used a red fine tip pen to outline it. The Chick and the Sentiment are popped up with foam tape. A few little ribbon and button details to finish it off. If my cat did go to school, I know he would be the smartest and coolest cat in the class.

Buttons and Broomsticks

Happy Halloween!
One last Halloween card... and then I'll be packing the witches and ghosties (but not the cats) up til next year. Sharon's challenge today was Stamp Simply #59 - Button up for Winter! -- to make a fall card and use buttons. I used buttons! In keeping with Sharon's stamp simply rules I kept the card pretty simple... when I got to the buttons I actually had the thought that I would thread them all... but realized quickly.... um.... not going to thread all of these. So I used crystals and pearls and sticky dots and covered up the button holes. The image is stamped on Curious Cryogen which shimmers and glimmers... quickly becoming a new fav for stamping, and colored with Copics. I highlighted with some Spica pens here and there. I love the little kitty with his squished up facial expression hanging on for the ride!

The cat's out of the bag...

The cat stamp is from Penny Black and the sentiment is from Repeat Impressions... somehow I found them and put them together for this little card. I had some brown bag paper (Thanks, Robin!) that I stamped and pieced the bag from... perfect! I popped the bag with some foam tape so it appears shadowed. I also used the brown bag paper on the background and ran it through the Cuttlebug to add some texture... but you can't really see the CB embossing in the picture. I added a few doodles around the edges with a tan and black micro pens. Finished it off with some black twill ribbon through some slot punch holes and a few of the infamous black sticky dots, will I ever run out of these? It seems as if they multiply, wish some of my other embellishments did the same!

Happy Turkey Day

It's TCP Tuesday and today's challenge was a sketch challenge over at Leigh O'Brien's blog Sunflower Studio. So I pulled out Sprinkles the Turkey to make a card with. The DP is Cosmo Cricket -- one side is the striped wood grain "Wanted" and the other side is the rusty red color "Doc Holiday". I used Copics and Spicas to color Sprinkles. The little star bursts I stamped everywhere in Caramel or Black. It ended up kind of busy, but I think it's OK. I used my Screw Punch to make the holes in the edge of the scallop frame and also to thread my black twine through. I used a tan fine tip pen to shadow the sentiment. I am also submitting this card as my second entry to the Cut Card Stock Contest "The Color of Fall".

Share a Hug

This is a quickie for sure.... and was inspired from the two color fade of the background paper. The red is like a Salmon Red and sure enough when I was looking for the Copic to match.... there it was "Salmon Red", just the one I needed. The snowman I masked then airbrushed the background. It is stamped on Curious Cryogen White and has that super shimmering tone to the paper. I put a layer of Glitter Glue- with very tiny glitter over the snowman. On the sentiment I just mimicked the little snowdrops from the snowman stamp around the edge of the ovaland outlined a few words to add some red. I dabbed a bit of Glitter on all the snow-dots too. I usually squeeze out my glitter glue on a scrap, then use a toothpick to apply. The little snowflakes are sparkly too and they were cheapy buttons I bought at Mike's and then just cut the button part off (What's the word for the button thingy on the back? Is it a shank?). Well, that really about sums up the entire card... EASY.

Witchy Wash-Line

How cute is are these little Witchy Clothes on the wash line? I know I've already shown off this stamp but had to share it again. I used my Copics and Airbrushed the background with a little grey. Still loving my Airbrush System, so glad I took the plunge. I'm still learning but think I'm getting better results from when I first started. I colored the clothes with Copics and then used my Spicas to sparkle them up. The little border I just drew little stars on and colored in the white. The sentiment is embossed on vellum and the window hole goes all the way thru the card base... so the light comes through the vellum window. It's so easy to cut out and line up windows with Nesties. I used my deckle edge scissors to edge everything. The two-tone ribbon was a perfect match for my DP. I love it when things just come together and work! The light green card stock is actually the backside of the DP, "Them Bones" by Cosmo Cricket --- see the little skeletons in the stripes. I don't think I even noticed them when I bought this paper! I just liked the colors!! I finished the card off with a few crystals. Finished card is an A2.

Kitty Country Style

Here's the behind the scenes on this country cat card--- My friend treated me to a Saturday night out to go see Josh Turner, a country singer for those of you that are saying--- whooo? Well just looking at Mr. Josh Turner was worth the price of admission as he is a hottie, never mind that he really does have an amazing voice to boot. So... to move along--- my friend shows all up all decked out in a RED western style shirt with rhinestones and a cool RED hat.... and she is as cat crazy as me. So how perfect is this little thank you card!?! The little black edgings are black strip stickers. And in the two corners I used a corner punch from EK Sucess and plopped some crystals in the open circle areas. I'm gonna have to hide my corner rounder as I just can't stop rounding the two corners on my images. I colored Country Cat Sprinkle with Copics and of course she sparkles of Spica... but you knew that already! I did only have the one ribbon strip and then felt the need to add the second.... cause it just needed MORE! The ribbon is puffed up in spots by just adding some glue dabs in places to secure it to the card. I like it. Done.

Fall Sunflowers

OK- This is my entry for "The Color of Fall" contest by . So wish me luck. The image is stamped on Curious Cryogen White-- which I've talked about before and is the source of said card stock. This paper has a beautiful shimmer to it which is seen even through the Copics! I love it. My blogger friend Sandy Hulsart introduced me to it, she uses it exclusively with Copic markers for amazing stamped scenes she creates.
The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and I airbrushed a little tan color around to take the whiteness away. Colored in with Copics. Of course I added Spicas to the sunflowers. I used a yellow marker to highlight the text as it looked to plain after I was done coloring the image. I used my Abstract Nesties to cut the frames out... Highlighting a little gold touch in two of the corners. I love these little gold half pearls I stuck on the corners.... I'm sure I'll be sticking them on everything to come for a while.

Golf Martini

This card came together nice and quickly and I like how it turned out.... other than the color scheme totally looks like Christmas. I colored with Copics, and coated the glass in Crystal Lacquer. For the little frame I drew the border using my Nestie frame before I popped my image out of it, then used a Micro pen to draw little circles. I colored in between the dots with a Red Copic and just put some little dots in the circles trying to mimic the golf ball dimples. I used a corner rounder for two corners -- I love doing this shape. I used to be addicted to my Ticket corner punch.... now it seems I can't stop doing the two rounded corners. The little silver and white dots are sticky on one side ... not sure who makes them as I threw away the packaging, but they were a good $1 find at JoAnn's.

Mad for Plaid - Witchy Wash Line

Are you running to get your sunglasses or are you calling the Glitter Police on me? I don't think I have ever used this much glitter on one card, ever. I was working on this card last night in the midnight hour--- so we'll go with that excuse. This is for the Ways to Use it Challenge, WT188, which was to use plaid on your card. OK here's how it came together... I airbrushed the background, then colored with Copics. I added glitter glue on the hat, dress and cape, then added some teensy crystals for even more bling - Fuji Crystals from TCP. The sentiment I embossed with a Brass Pearl EP on green paper, then I used a marker and colored it black, wiping away the marker from the embossed letters using a Kleenex. Then I coated that with glitter glue and a layer of crystal lacquer too. The stars and edge of the stamped panel I edged with the chisel end of my black Copic, then repeated --glitter glue and then crystal lacquer. I like the Crystal Lacquer over the glitter because it gives it a glassy look and also gives depth to the glitter and sparkles. Click on the close up to see all the glitter detail - and check out those itty bitty crystals. Somehow I had the perfect glitzy purple ribbon to add, purple is my least fav color and I have no idea why I would have bought this. I threw on some dew drops at the end, because well it just needed MORE! lol.

Potions and Spells

I'm gonna be sad when Halloween comes and goes, because I have had soooo much fun making Halloween cards. There were so many awesome images that came out this year, and they are just fun cards to make. I colored my image with Copics and used my Spica pens liberally over everything. On the crystal ball I used glitter glue -but it has very fine glitter, not the chunky stuff, same for the little dust coming out of the pouch. Then I used crystal lacquer over the glitter glue and it really looked like a crystal ball raised off the paper. The border I created by drawing the black lines and coloring with my Copics. I tried to mimic the color blocks on the pattern paper. The ribbon is two tone and I thought matched up pretty well with the colors on my card. I outlined the sentiment with an orange pen and added some little green crystals on either side. And my favorite touch.... the drippy punch. I thought you might could use this punch for icing on a cake slice or cupcake too. Click on the close up to see more detail. Finished card size is 5x5.
